Install on Linux
The native Rebels of Gaming app – news, messages, forum, events and game servers on your Linux PC and the Steam Deck.
All distributions and Steam Deck
Flatpak
Runs on almost every distribution, isolated in a sandbox. Updates arrive automatically through the software centre or with “flatpak update”.
Opens GNOME Software, KDE Discover or another software centre.
Add the repository manually
Steam Deck
- Steam button → “Power” → “Switch to Desktop”.
- In desktop mode, open this page in the browser and choose “Install with one click” – Discover opens and installs the app.
- Alternatively: open Konsole and paste the Flatpak command above.
- Afterwards you will find “Rebels of Gaming” in the start menu. For game mode: “Add a Non-Steam Game” in Steam.
Flatpak downloads the runtime (freedesktop) from Flathub during installation; the app itself comes from our server.
.deb package
Debian, Ubuntu, Mint, Pop!_OS
Installs the app to /opt/rebelsofgaming with the command “rebelsofgaming”. The package does not update itself – download and install new versions again.
Tarball
Other distributions
Contains everything the app needs – extract and start, no installation.
Single file
Flatpak offline
For computers without direct access to our repository: download the file and install it. The repository for later updates is set up at the same time.
Verify authenticity
Our Flatpak repository is signed with this GPG key – Flatpak checks the signature itself on every installation and update. The checksums (SHA-256) of the files are listed with the downloads.
Requirements
- 64-bit Linux (x86_64 or ARM64), Wayland or X11.
- A keyring (GNOME Keyring, KWallet or similar) so you stay signed in – without one, the sign-in lasts until you close the app.
- Sign in with your existing account in the browser (Discord or e-mail).
Privacy
The app contains no tracking, no ads and no analytics. Downloads and updates come from our own server. If you install the Flatpak, Flatpak downloads the runtime from Flathub (flathub.org) – Flathub receives your IP address in the process.
