Delete account

Instructions for the “Rebels of Gaming” apps (iOS, Android and Windows) and the website

The Rebels of Gaming apps for iOS, Android and Windows and the website rebelsofgaming.com use the same account. If you delete it in one place, it is deleted everywhere. In the Windows app you find “Delete account” under “Account”. The app is provided and developed by Kevin Wahl (Rebels of Gaming), reachable at info@rebelsofgaming.com.

Before you start

  • If you are an active clan member, you leave the clan first – yourself, with “Leave the clan” in the same place as “Delete account” (app, or website under “Account” → “Your data”). Your roles on Discord and TeamSpeak are removed as well. After that you can delete your account yourself right away.
  • The clan owner’s account cannot be deleted.
  • Want to keep a copy of your data? Download it beforehand on the website under “Account” → “Your data”.
  • Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

In the app

  1. Open the “Rebels of Gaming” app and sign in.
  2. Tap “More” and then “Delete account”.
  3. Read the notes and confirm with your password. If your account has no password (sign-in with Discord or Steam only), enter your display name instead.
  4. Tap “Delete account permanently” and confirm. The app signs you out and removes your data from the device.

On the website

  1. Sign in on rebelsofgaming.com – this works in any browser, also on your phone.
  2. In the member area, open the Account page.
  3. Go to “Your data” → “Delete account” and confirm with your password or – without a password – with your display name.
  4. Click “Delete account permanently” and confirm.

Without access to the app or your account

You can no longer get into your account or no longer have the app? Then write to us using the contact form (topic “Privacy”) or at info@rebelsofgaming.com. Tell us your name on the website and – if you added one – your account’s email address.

So that nobody can have someone else’s account deleted, we check that the request really comes from you – for example by asking back at the account’s email address or via your linked Discord account. We then delete the account within one month – with the same rules as a deletion in the app – and confirm the deletion to you; if an email address is stored in the account, the confirmation is sent to it automatically.

What is deleted

  • Your account with name, email address, password, two-factor authentication and passkeys
  • Your profile with avatar, banner and all details, platform IDs and game accounts, as well as the links to Discord, Steam, Twitch and TeamSpeak
  • All signed-in devices and sessions, app access, API keys and push tokens – push notifications stop immediately
  • Your uploads, attachments and data exports, including the files in our storage
  • Applications, event responses, absences, statistics and playtime, warnings and bans, and internal notes of the clan leadership about you
  • Notifications, settings, consents and your confirmations of rules and legal texts
  • In the app on your device: access key, offline storage, outbox and offline wiki

What remains without any link to you

Content that belongs to conversations or the clan archive stays – without your name (“Deleted account”) and without any link to you:

  • Forum posts, news comments and direct messages (for the people you talked to)
  • Wiki edits and files as well as page versions. If you signed with ~~~~ in the wiki, your name at the time is part of the text – we remove it on request.
  • Clips and videos in the gallery, downloads, short links as well as images and videos you explicitly released to the clan’s media library (without the original file name and description)
  • Reports you sent, and entries in the change and moderation logs

What is kept for a while

  • Backups: at most 30 days in the database backup, at most 3 days in the file backup. After that they are overwritten. If we have to restore a backup, we delete your account again.
  • A log entry that the account was deleted – only with the internal account number, so we can repeat the deletion after restoring a backup: 730 days.
  • Web server and application logs with IP address: 14 days; security log (failed sign-ins, blocks): 8 weeks; IP addresses in the change log: 90 days.
  • Entries in the change and moderation logs (without any link to you): 730 and 730 days respectively.
  • Log of our Discord bot (verification, removal from the server, with Discord ID): 90 days. Messages in Discord channels, such as a welcome message, stay in Discord – the moderation team removes them on request.
  • Your deletion request via contact form or email: until it is completed, at most 12 months.
  • App Store, Google Play and Microsoft Store: whatever Apple, Google or Microsoft store when you download the app, they process themselves under their own privacy policies – we have no access to it.

Former members

Even without a request: anyone who has left the clan is automatically fully anonymised 24 months after leaving – just like an account deletion. Exception: you agreed in your profile to remain named in the Hall of Fame.

Everything else about how we handle your data is in our Privacy policy.

RoG app

Messages, events and servers – faster in the app.

The Windows app from the Microsoft Store – with notifications.
